A Monroe, New York buyer recently paid $950,000 for two neighboring buildings holding a total of 11 units in Waterbury's South End.
Fishkill, New York-based Dika River LLC, whose principal is Fatime Dika, sold the property at 249-259 River St. to 249 River Street LLC in a deal recorded by the city on Feb. 1.
The buyer’s principal, David Werzberger, lists one of the River Street apartment buildings as both his home and business address in state business records. The limited liability used for the purchase is listed in Monroe, New York.
The 3,400-square-foot, five-unit apartment building at 249 River St. was completed in 2005, according to city assessing records.
The neighboring 6,612-square-foot, three-story building at 259 River St. hosts six units, according to assessing records. It was completed in 1900.
The buildings sit across River Street from the Mad River, but are cut off from access and views of the waterway by thick brush and a chain-link fence topped with barbed wire.
The property last sold in 2020 for $685,000, according to city assessing records.
Correction: An earlier version of this story did not include the building at 259 River St. in the sale.
