The University of Connecticut School of Business recently announced it was offering a new minor in social responsibility and impact in business.
University officials said the program, which will conduct classes in-person at the Storrs campus, is being launched because there is a growing interest from students in social responsibility.
The program is open to all UConn undergraduates and a parallel concentration is also being offered to marketing majors, the university said.
The university said the new program will help students better grasp local and global challenges and identify the environmental and human rights impact of business, among other things.
The new minor comes on the heels of UConn’s Board of Trustees approving two new graduate certificate programs. The board voted March 30 to approve new 12-credit programs in both oceanographic science and technology and literacy leadership.
