UI completes $120M New Haven LEED campus

Submitted Photo Construction on the new $120 million United Illuminating headquarters has been completed.

Electric utility United Illuminating has completed its $120 million, 1,200-employee campus in New Haven, building the new facility to LEED silver standards.

The 56-acre corporate headquarters is certified silver under the U.S. Green Buidling Council's Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design, or LEED program. The facility also includes an operations center, a warehouse, an office complex, and a two-story parking structure. The total building square footage is 376,419.

Hartford contractor Diversified Project Management announced the completion on Wednesday.

The Marsh Hill Road headquarters currently houses 850 employees, although the facility can accommodate up to 1,200 workers.
