United Healthcare grants $1M to CT Children’s to train pediatricians

United Healthcare said it has awarded a $1 million grant to Connecticut Children’s Medical Center to establish training programs to help pediatricians battle child asthma, obesity and other diseases.

The Hartford health provider’s Office for Community Child Health plans to develop training programs for 600 Connecticut doctors.

Working with other partners, OCCH has already developed eight programs designed to help providers deliver quality, cost-effective care to children, the hospital said.
