UPS hiring 940 seasonal employees in Hartford area for holiday season

UPS plans to hire about 940 seasonal employees in the Hartford area during the upcoming holiday months, part of the company’s national hiring spree in preparation for the 2023 gift-giving season.

Shipping and packaging company UPS announced Tuesday it would be hiring almost 1,000 full- and part-time seasonal employees in the Hartford area in preparation for the holiday rush. The company said it expects to hire more than 100,000 seasonal employees across the country over the next several months, with almost 80% of positions not requiring an interview after filling out an online application.

The hires will mostly be for delivery drivers, commercial driver’s license drivers and package handlers with seasonal hourly pay rates beginning at $21 per hour for package handlers and driver helpers to $23 an hour for driving jobs.

UPS isn’t the only company hiring workers in Connecticut for the upcoming holiday season.

Amazon announced earlier this month that it will hire about 5,000 employees for full-time, seasonal and part-time roles in Connecticut this winter.
