Voya to end individual life insurance sales

Voya Financial Inc., which has a major Windsor presence, said it will end sales of its individual life insurance at year-end.

The global insurer made the announcement Tuesday in its third-quarter earnings report.

Rodney O. Martin Jr., Voya’s CEO and chairman, said the move comes after a strategic review. Earlier this year, Voya sold nearly all of its individual annuities business.

Martin said the review has steered the company to focus on its retirement, investment management and employee benefits businesses.
