Wallingford aerospace manufacturer acquired

A Simsbury businessman has purchased Wallingford-based aerospace gasket manufacturer Corru-Seals Inc.

Yogi Tharanibalan did not reveal what he paid for the business, which was established in the town in 1977.

Tharanibalan most recently was general manager of Pursuit Aerospace’s central Connecticut operations, and before that worked for one of Pursuit’s predecessor companies, Whitcraft.

Corru-Seals is a manufacturer of gaskets, compression packings, oil and mechanical seals, primarily for aerospace applications. It supplies companies including General Electric, Pratt & Whitney, Honeywell and Rolls-Royce.

“The company has a well-earned reputation for impeccable quality products delivered on-time at competitive prices,” Tharanibalan said. “We…look forward to capitalizing on the company’s strong manufacturing capabilities to continue the company’s recent growth.”

According to the new owner, the company employs around two dozen people and has annual sales around $5 million.
