Waterbury Regional Chamber names recipients of 2022 Harold Webster Smith awards

The Waterbury Regional Chamber Wednesday announced the 2022 recipients of its Harold Webster Smith Awards, naming the entrepreneur, small business and manufacturer of the year. 

The recipients are entrepreneur of the year Viron Rondos, owner of the Cheshire-based Italian restaurant Viron Rondo Osteria; small business of the year Peak Physical Therapy, a Waterbury-based rehabilitation and sports medicine clinic; and small manufacturer of the year, Waterbury-based Fascia’s Chocolates, which began its operations in 1964.

The chamber will present the awards during a ceremony on Oct. 27 at Aria Wedding and Banquet Facility in Prospect.

The awards are named after Smith, a fixture in Waterbury and founder of the First Federal Savings in Waterbury in 1935. He served as CEO until 1937 and as chairman of the board until 1995 when the bank was renamed Webster Bank in his honor.
