Watertown launches efficiency campaign

Paul Keyes and Raquel Kennedy, owners of Victory Energy Solutions in New Britain, are among the efficiency providers donating to a food bank for every Watertown energy audit performed.

Watertown started Monday encouraging its residents to increase their energy efficiency by offering a food bank donation for everyone that signs up for a Home Energy Solutions audit.

The HES program offered through Energize Connecticut provides residential using electricity, natural gas, and heating oil to receive energy efficiency services like switching out light bulbs, weather-stripping leaky doors and windows, and recommending equipment and insulation upgrades.

The services cost $99 and expect to save each home $250 annually.

For every Watertown resident signing up for an HES audit by Dec. 31, $25 will be donated to the Watertown Food Bank. The donations will be made by HES providers Santa Energy, Victory Energy Solutions, Wesson Energy, and New England Smart Energy.
