Waterbury regional lender Webster Financial is extending its reach into the nation’s Southeast corner, with the opening of an Atlanta commercial-credit office.
Meantime, William Greene III, who left Webster six years ago, has returned to head Webster Bank Business Credit’s Georgia office, the bank said Tuesday.
“This is a homecoming as well as an opening,” said WBCC Executive Vice President Warren Mino. “Bill was with Webster from 1998 to 2009. With his return, we look to grow the book of businesses and service customers in that region.”
Prior to returning to Webster, Greene was in HSBC Bank’s Atlanta office, catering to so-called “middle-market’’ customers -- companies with $50 million to $500 million in revenue and international needs.
WBCC, part of Webster’s Commercial Bank, says it currently has $289.4 million in loan commitments in the southeastern U.S. and $1.4 billion in lines of credit in place.
