Waterbury efficiency contractor Wesson Energy won its third U.S. Department of Energy Century Club Award in July, for improving energy performance in more than 100 houses in the past year.

The awards recognize contractors who use a whole-house approach in improving the energy performance of a residence. The Energy Department’s goal is to turn science-based solutions in real results for homeowners nationally.

Wesson has performed energy audits in more than 7,500 homes as part of its participation in the Home Energy Solution program, which is a state initiative that subsidizes homeowners’ cost of conservation.
