Eastford-based aeroparts maker Whitcraft Group continued its recent buying-spree by acquiring TECT Power, a Kentucky manufacturer that makes turbine engine components.
As part of the deal, Whitcraft will maintain some members of TECT Power’s executive team -- including former CEO Rob Cohen, who will lead the company’s business development unit, Whitcraft said. TECT Power will also rebrand as Whitcraft.
The purchase price wasn’t disclosed.
“This acquisition of TECT Power expands Whitcraft’s capabilities as a full-service partner to our OEM and Tier One customers,” said Whitcraft CEO Doug Folsom. “We are thrilled to have Rob and the TECT Power team join us.”
The TECT Power deal represents the fifth acquisition Whitcraft has made over the past year, and brings its total workforce to more than 1,800 people across 11 states, a major increase from 2006, when Whitcraft employed 235 people.
Whitcraft bought South Windsor-based Evolution Aerospace in December, and prior to that acquired Form3D in Dover, New Hampshire, and two facilities from LAI International located in Scarborough, Maine, and Tempe, Arizona.
Last October, Whitcraft acquired Multax Corp., a Morton, Illinois, company that programs multi-axis machine tools capable of precise movements.
