Whittlesey promotes CPA to partner

Accounting firm Whittlesey, which has offices in Hamden and Hartford, recently announced that it has promoted certified public accountant Thomas Dowling to partner. 

Dowling joined the firm in 2017 and he has more than 15 years of public accounting experience with a concentration in assurance, advisory and tax services for nonprofit organizations and closely-held businesses. Dowling regularly advises clients on internal controls, fraud risk assessments and strategic planning.

CEO and Managing Partner Drew Andrews said of Dowling, “He has consistently provided outstanding service and guidance to our clients.”

Dowling is an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants (MSCPA), as well as the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE).

Sharon La Riviere

Laticrete names new marketing executive

Bethany-based manufacturer Laticrete recently promoted Sharon La Riviere to the role of manager, digital marketing.

The company manufactures products for the construction industry such as installation and  maintenance products for stone, tile and masonry.

La Riviere most recently served as the company’s senior digital marketing and search engine marketing strategist.

In her new role, she will lead the digital marketing communications function for all business segments in North America. She is now responsible for building and expanding platforms that promote the organization and its products to customers and prospects. She will also be researching and implementing new marketing strategies, overseeing digital marketing budgets and managing the digital marketing team. 

Maria Oliveira, the company’s senior manager of marketing communications, said, “Sharon has successfully led and attained significant goals across all facets of our digital space, making this promotion well-deserved, and we look forward to seeing her further take our social media and digital presence to the next level.”

La Riviere has more than 23 years of experience in marketing, and she joined the company in 2016.
