For the second time this month, an insurer has announced plans to expand in downtown Hartford.
Windsor-based Talcott Financial Group, an international life insurance company, announced Monday it will move approximately 300 employees in its Windsor location to Hartford later this year.
The company said it will occupy 52,000 square feet within the iconic Boat Building at One American Row. The location was chosen after an extensive search for office space, officials said.
“The expansion of our presence in a new vibrant location in Hartford, one of the premier insurance markets in the U.S., is a significant next step in the growth of Talcott Financial Group,” said Diane Krajewski, Talcott’s chief human resources officer and head of operations. “This highly accessible space will support the organization’s efficiency and collaboration, while providing an exceptional work environment for our employees and giving us the space needed for continued growth.”
Talcott, which said it has $122 billion in assets under management, also has offices in New York City and Hamilton, Bermuda.
Earlier this month, Global Atlantic announced plans to expand its presence in the Gold Building to support 100 new downtown employees.
