Your cereal, ice cream or cilantro from Stop & Shop will arrive at your door in as few as 30 minutes under an expanded partnership between the grocery chain and delivery app Instacart.
The Massachusetts-based grocer announced the new Stop & Shop Express “convenience delivery service” at its locations in the Northeast, including its 90 stores in Connecticut.
Stop & Shop President Gordon Reid said, “With Stop & Shop Express, not only will we continue to be there for our customers with our great selection of grocery items, but we can be there for them in as fast as 30 minutes.”
About 30,000 items, including prepared foods, snacks, beverages, paper goods, cleaners and baby products will be speed-delivered with the service. The 30-minute guarantee is offered as “priority delivery” to Instacart Express members.
Customers must order at least $10 worth of groceries and use the service during the hours that their local Stop & Shop is open.
Stop & Shop’s collaboration with California-based Instacart began in 2017 with same-day delivery, which expanded in 2020 to 321 locations, or 75% of the grocer’s stores.
Stop & Shop Supermarket Company LLC, owned by Netherlands-based Ahold Delhaize, employs 58,000 workers in 400 stores in Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New York and New Jersey.
