The Yale New Haven Health system announced Friday it has acquired PhysicianOne Urgent Care, which has locations in Connecticut, Massachusetts and New York.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

YNHH has had a clinical affiliation with PhysicianOne for the past six years, and system leaders called integrating the 24/7 urgent care provider a natural next step as part of its efforts to expand.

YNHH CEO and President Christopher O’Connor said of the acquisition, “Yale New Haven Health is committed to meeting the patients where they want to access care, and urgent care is a convenient alternative for many people.”

The state Department of Public Health approved the acquisition in August.

PhysicianOne Urgent Care has 18 locations in Connecticut, six in Massachusetts and three in New York. It provides on-site care during business hours, plus 24/7, year-round, locally-staffed telehealth services. Patients can obtain various services, from illness and injury treatment to diagnostic and X-ray services.

The Yale system includes five hospitals – Bridgeport, Greenwich, Lawrence + Memorial, Westerly and Yale New Haven hospitals. It currently has urgent care centers in Fairfield and Milford, Northeast Medical Group walk-ins across Connecticut, and orthopedic walk-in centers in North Haven and Stamford.

Lynne Rosen, CEO of PhysicianOne Urgent Care, said of the deal, “The combined strengths of our organizations are aligned to improve the experience and clinical care for our patients.”
