Unravel the thrilling saga of an extraordinary counterfeiter in the newly published, raucously entertaining memoir, “You Thought It Was More: New Adventures of the World’s Greatest Counterfeiter,” by Louis Colavecchio with local authors Andy Thibault and Franz Douskey.

The gripping memoir tells the story of Louis “The Coin” Colavecchio, who became a top earner for the Patriarca crime family by swindling top casinos across the country, including Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun.

Colavecchio's prowess as a jeweler, manufacturer and charmer has earned him a place in history, having been featured in The New York Times and The Providence Journal and in films on The History Channel and The BBC.

An independent bookstore in Danbury, The BookSmiths Shoppe, is hosting a launch party and book signing featuring a live band headlined by Rick Reyes, with Asher Delerme on percussion and Kris Jensen, of Allman Brothers Band fame, on the saxophone. The setlist includes a tribute to Colavecchio, “King Louis De La Provvidenza.”

Join us for a night of literary fun and live music. Meet the co-authors Andy Thibault and Franz Douskey, who will likely be there with retired state police Det. Sgt. Jerry Longo, who arrested Colavecchio. Get your book signed and groove to the tunes of a live band. It's going to be a night to remember, so mark your calendars and don't miss out!

The BookSmiths Shoppe is located at The Summit, 100 Reserve Road, first floor mezzanine, Danbury.

The event starts at 7 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 9. Admission is free. RSVP at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/you-thought-it-was-more-book-signing-and-live-band-party-tickets-944318541177
