Air Temp Mechanical has grown to become one of Connecticut’s largest independent commercial HVAC contractors by understanding the needs and exceeding the expectations of building owners and facility managers. Founded in 2001 by CEO Jeff Leone, Air Temp’s customers include central Connecticut’s leading educational institutions, state and local municipalities, healthcare providers, and industrial and manufacturing facilities.
“We’ve built our reputation by enabling customers to make a single call to solve any of their heating, air conditioning, and ventilation needs,” said Leone. “Whether that’s service, maintenance, design/build, building automation and controls, or energy services, we do it all in-house. These capabilities help us partner with customers to improve comfort, reduce costs, and increase energy efficiency.”
Air Temp optimizes HVAC systems with a customized preventive plan to minimize future repair calls. It also conducts energy audits to identify steps for maximizing energy savings. The energy services team can manage the design, installation, rebates, and financing of energy improvement projects, including HVAC, controls, lighting, insulation, windows, and many other measures. Air Temp’s 32,000 sq. ft. facility in Berlin, CT, houses a state-of-the-art metal fabrication shop complete with the latest technologies to manufacture custom commercial and industrial ductwork. As Connecticut’s leading Honeywell and Distech Building Control Systems provider, Air Temp helps customers leverage building analytics to ensure maximum energy efficiency, comfort, and savings.
The following case studies illustrate the value of Air Temp’s customer partnerships.
Hoffman Auto Group recognized that inadequate air conditioning at its service centers compromised optimal working conditions for its skilled mechanics. Air Temp successfully coordinated installations in five service centers, completing the project on schedule and within budget before the onset of the cooling season.
The Oxford Public School District needed to replace its outdated air conditioning and heating systems. Air Temp helped Oxford secure significant incentives and completed the conversion to a high-efficiency heating and cooling system a month ahead of schedule without disrupting classes.
Miss Porter’s School needed to upgrade the HVAC systems in 13 dormitories and sought an experienced partner for this modernization project. Air Temp designed and installed multiple HVAC solutions and an energy management system for the entire campus. This collaboration resulted in improved comfort, sustainability, and efficiency.
In January, Air Temp Mechanical partnered with PremiStar, a leading nationwide provider of commercial HVAC, plumbing, and building automation solutions with 52 locations in 16 states. Joining with PremiStar will help Air Temp continue to expand its services and service territory.
Reflecting on the secret to Air Temp’s success, Leone shared, “After spending 36 years in this industry, I’ve witnessed remarkable advancements in technology and efficiency. However, the true cornerstone of our success is our commitment to fostering long-term, dedicated employees. Our people consistently go above and beyond to exceed our customers’ expectations. This dedication is at the heart of what we do.”
