Recently, Habitat for Humanity North Central Connecticut (HFHNCC) received over $300,000 in grants from the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving, Ilsababy Foundation and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Veteran Home Repair Modification program supporting the non-profit organization’s expansion and programs in the Tolland County area.
“Affordable housing is one of the most critical social issues affecting Americans,” said Karraine Moody, CEO, HFHNCC. “As we continue to expand into Tolland County, this type of funding is critical to our ability to serve the most vulnerable families, like the elderly, disabled and Veteran homeowners, and help Connecticut residents maintain homeownership”.
With this financial support, HFHNCC can now implement its A Brush with Kindness (ABWK) program in Tolland County and has set a goal of assisting as many as 30 homeowners by the end of 2023. Eligible homeowners must own a home in Bolton, Ellington, Somers, Stafford Springs, Tolland, Union and Vernon. You can partner with Habitat for Humanity by spreading the word and/or sponsoring an ABWK project. Please visit www.HFHNCC.org to learn more.
