Milestone Construction Services is a full-service construction management, general contracting and design/build company focused on delivering the highest quality results that meet or exceed expectations. Specializing in renovations and ground-up construction, the company’s diverse project portfolio comprises work for healthcare, education, commercial, municipal, manufacturing, retail food service and hospitality clients. Its expertise includes occupied-space construction and renovations, office and administrative spaces, manufacturing spaces, warehousing, laboratory facilities, retail spaces, infrastructure upgrades, food and dining services and LEED-certified projects.

Getting the job done without interrupting the work that their clients need to get done is a hallmark of Milestone. Whether it’s a manufacturing facility running a 24/7 operation or a medical facility that can’t be disturbed during regular business hours, Milestone’s preparation and planning minimize disruption while maximizing results.

Established in 2010, the company’s success has been guided by founder and president Frank Ferraiolo whose prior background was on the client side of construction management. “What I brought to the table when I started and continue to provide is an owner’s perspective on construction projects, how an owner would feel,” he said. His 15 years of experience in construction management at Yale University prior to starting Milestone helps him identify the right contractors for every project Milestone tackles. But for Ferraiolo and his team, the job doesn’t end there. Milestone is focused on communicating effectively with its clients and delivering the highest quality results. “We are the owner’s eyes and ears,” he said. “If you run into a little problem along the way, it doesn’t turn into a big problem because you’re upfront all the way through.”

Milestone stands out for its capabilities in occupied-space construction which can be likened to working on I-95 without closing the roadway during rush hour. “We work with our clients to accomplish what has to be done under challenging conditions. That takes listening, understanding and close collaboration to make it happen successfully,” said Ferraiolo. That can mean working off hours and/or holidays to accommodate client schedules and making sure operations are not affected during the construction process.

Milestone’s successful $15 million renovation/expansion for Rowland Technologies was a stellar case study in this type of work. The company plans to build on that experience to take on more work with manufacturers. Another area for potential growth is in the entertainment sector where Milestone has found repeated success doing work at Foxwoods. “It’s very tight schedules, but we have done numerous projects there and they continue to offer us bidding opportunities,” Ferraiolo said.

Looking forward in 2024, Milestone has plans to move in into a larger office space in New Haven to accommodate the company’s growth in people and its need for more space, Ferraiolo said. As the company expands its customer base and looks to develop even more new opportunities, it is building a first-class organization with top-notch team members.

Milestone prioritizes both community service and responsible construction. Through active involvement in industry organizations, it connects with industry peers and seeks ways to drive innovation and continually implement best practices. It is an engaged partner in the Greater New Haven community, with time and resources donated to organizations that make the city’s neighborhoods better places, such as Toys for Tots, Ronald McDonald House, Annex Little League, Walter Camp Foundation, St. Jude Hospital and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
