It goes without saying that companies want a thorough approach to cleaning from their janitorial and facilities vendors. But what keeps them coming back to Patterson Maintenance Services is the company’s responsive attitude and the array of services it can provide.
“We’re a one-stop shop for the majority of our clients,’ said Scott Patterson, president of the company he founded more than 35 years ago.
Patterson Maintenance Services delivers everything from routine cleaning and janitorial work to window cleaning and specialized construction and installation work, freeing clients from the need to rely on multiple vendors.
“Buildings always need some sort of TLC, from fixing leaky toilets to repairing broken windows. Whatever it is, customers can call us,” Patterson said.
The company’s commitment to responsiveness and customer service has also earned the company a steady stream of repeat business.
“We consistently hear that we are the most responsive company our clients have ever worked with, and our entire staff is committed to delivering that experience for our customers,” Patterson said.
Indeed, staff members are fully vested in the success of Patterson Maintenance Services as a byproduct of the company’s profit-sharing plan. Between that and other benefits, the average employee brings home an annual bonus of between $4,000 and $5,000, Patterson said.
Patterson learned the industry from the ground floor. He began his career as a stockbroker in Manhattan, but a market downturn in the 1980s left him looking for alternatives. He picked up tools and supplies and began cleaning windows for local colleges and businesses around Boston. He soon realized there was a need for a more comprehensive service provider. So, he decided to stick with the business and began to scale it up.
More than three decades later, Patterson Maintenance Services has grown to serve clients across New England and other regions of the country. The company’s full suite of offerings is a major selling point, as more and more corporate clients look to consolidate their vendor relationships.
“Particularly since the Covid-19 pandemic, they want to get more bang for their buck by reducing the number of service providers they have to work with,” Patterson said.
Patterson Maintenance Services also is deeply involved in supporting local charities. The company donates generously to nonprofits like Oak Hill, CCARC and First Choice Medical, to name a few.
As Patterson Maintenance Services continues to grow, the company remains focused on maintaining its core values of responsiveness, quality and community involvement. With plans to double in size in the near future, Patterson is confident that his team’s dedication will continue to set the company apart in the facilities management landscape.
“We live by the mantra that if we don’t do a good job every day, take care of our clients and return every phone call immediately, there will be someone else who is happy to take our business,” Patterson said. “That’s why we work so hard to be the most responsive, reliable and trusted service provider.”
