At the dawn of the 21st century, entrepreneurs John Kearney and Jerry Hawkins dove into the newly deregulated business of energy procurement in electricity and natural gas.
Their company, Titan Energy, started the same way as many other new ventures – in the basements of their founders’ homes. But the startup quickly outgrew its early beginnings. Over the next two decades, Titan Energy has expanded and adapted through a series of dramatic changes in the way people and businesses generate, purchase and consume energy.
Today, Titan Energy’s services include electricity and natural gas procurement, solar and co-generation consulting, data management, energy efficiency, storage, EV charging and LED lighting. They serve commercial clients across North America, handling large portfolios of national brands. Here in Connecticut, they have helped customers control costs and advance sustainability objectives in becoming a leading consultant for commercial and municipal solar and electric vehicle charging projects.
Titan Energy continues to be a leader in energy procurement. The company analyzes the electricity and natural gas needs of its clients and guides them to the optimal methods for meeting those needs. As a supplier-neutral entity, Titan Energy prioritizes client interests and outcomes.
Clients appreciate that Titan Energy is a one-stop shop for their energy needs. The company’s experience and knowledge inspire trust in the services it provides and fosters enduring relationships, some of which have lasted 20 years.
Within Connecticut, Titan Energy now serves more than half of the state’s municipalities. “It is a testament to the value we have created for them,” Vice President of Market Development Justin Kearney said.
The team of advisors at Titan Energy includes people who are smart, well-trained, focused on energy and passionate about their customers. And the team is always on the lookout for new ways of adding value for their clients.
New technologies in energy conservation and storage are among the emerging fields. Generating and storing your own power is especially important to lock in energy prices for 20 years and provide budgetary certainty.
Headquartered on Main Street in Hartford, Titan Energy is also an active supporter of community endeavors. In honor of its co-founder, Titan Energy sponsors the John F. Kearney Scholarship at Eastern Connecticut State University. It is offered annually to a deserving student, often in the fields of political science and history. Titan is proud to be the sole provider of this award.
